** Accounting Manager ~ CPA ** (Los Angeles, CA )
Description
Our client is an established services organization seeking an Accounting Manager to join their dynamic organization as they streamline existing processes through continuous expansion. In this role, you will be responsible for the oversight of the accounting and finance function as well as assist the Controller with financial reporting and month end close. Duties and responsibilities: & gt;Assist with monthly financial reporting and SOX compliance >Oversee and coordinate monthly close process, assist with the preparation of profit and loss statements; balance sheet reconciliations >Review of monthly journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, bank reconciliations >Lead, direct and mentor a staff of six; coordinate and ensure timely completion of month end deadlines and projects >Establish policies and procedures, internal controls; identify areas for improvement and process efficiencies to shorten existing close cycle >Oversight of payroll processes for approximately two hundred employees >Perform financial analysis, various analysis, ad hoc analysis as requested by Controller and CFO Qualifications: >Minimum of five years of experience within accounting and finance >Minimum two years of public accounting experience within a national, regional or Big 4 firm >Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics and CPA Certification required >In depth understanding of month end close process, US GAAP reporting >Previous supervision experience >Intermediate to advance Excel skills >Previous experience with large accounting software package, i.e. Great Plains, Mas200, SAP, JD Edwards >Excellent verbal as well as written communication skills >Ability to work in a fast paced environment; previous experience within a start up environment highly preferred ** Client will be interviewing the week of December 15th, 2008 ** For immediate consideration for this excellent opportunity, apply in confidence to Lindy Huang at lindy@rhumblineaccounting.com or call (310) 234-0208 x113, fax (310) 234-0308. http://www.rhumblineaccounting.com/ Requirements Month End Close, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Statements, Payroll Process ~ Multi-State, Payroll Process ~ Multi-Jurisdiction, Payroll ~ Garnishments, ADP Windows, MS Excel, Bachelor Degree ~ Accounting or Finance, Minimum Eight Years of Accounting & Finance experience
