Description

Morris Minor Convertible Series 2 Late model series 2 convertible roughly 1955 56 Australian assembled Ckd complete knockdown Fcc prefice. factory red a rare colour on australian morris s last registered around 1972 being dry stored ever since Basically looks like a 1000 with a split window.and fits an 803 1000 1098 1275 motor without any body mods as all motors are physically similar. Car is dissasembled for inspection the only way to truely know a cars condition all panels are removed car is rolling but motor and box are removed. It is a very good body with good floor and body. It has very little rust unlike many convertibles around. rust being restricted to a small area in side sills very easily and quickly repaired. The body is so untouched and good it would suit someone wanting to build a concoarse car or build a car for the future knowing they have started with a very good body. all panels supplied will be the best panels I have collected over a 30 year period and stored in sheds the car will come with a Series 2 original 803 motor removed from a car I had in the past and this motor was good or if wanted I can supply a 1000 motor instead. A second 803 motor is available .pick the best. gearbox can be chosen out of a shed full etc.so the choice of my best parts for all components. Interior bits are a composite of the best parts i had Interior seats are with original coverings in nice condition and usable as is rear side panels redone new cardboard and trim but front door panels are original and need triming. here is the interesting thing It will come with many new or new old stock or " as new" parts " as new" ie parts put on a car but were not ever used on the road or had very little use also which include front bonnet hinges hockey stick front grille panel a new old stock but with surface rust or a perfect secondhand one.your choice side door rubbers bumpers original style tyres with little use brake cylinders and shoes etc. there is so much of this stuff to list I will need to lay it all out first and relist it. When you look at the stuff included you will see a lot of money value that you wont have to purchase as you would with many projects. And the choices of this stuff is wide.well you pick which you prefer.I m sick of trying to decide which is better than the other. 30 years of saving the best for my ultimate restoration I never got to. It will come with an original heater with all necessary fittings a rare and expensive extra. one at A350 on ebay recently It will have the rare series 2 glovebox lids these are peculiar to series 2 and not the oft used 1000 lids.they fit over the apperture not inside it. these original lids were not standard on series 2 cars so are rare. hood bows are good and I also have a hood with the car that is intact but not fitted.amazing came with car not sure if this one was on car though?Good as template.it may be a bit too grubby to use as it is a light colour. If not its a good template at least.usually the hoods are just tatters anyway. the only thing that may be missing are the side rear window glass not sure if I got them originally but feel I did and I may have mixed these up with some sedan glass as they both look the same. not sure if they are but will check soon I may have them if so as i have heaps of sedan glass they could have been put with.If I find them they will go with car obviously. nevertheless these side glass are easy to replace with newly cut ones or even in perspex if needed to be do it yourself. Due to my ill health I have not been able to set out all the parts yet but will be working towards that by the time someone wishes to view. As I do this I will photograph all and am willing to supply as many photos as needed when available to an interested person but prefer actual viewing of everything.I prefer your personal inspection. after purchase the car needs to be picked up in person with someone to help you as my health may make it difficult to help with heavy items. Now what you are waiting for oh yea the price.not cheap but based on its condition and the good parts included is 8000 yes I know this is the price of a basic on the road car.true but recently some have been advertised up to 20000 and with acknowledged sales around 15000 so the potential of convertibles in future to return your investment is becoming evident.and a good starter with heaps of quality parts is worth paying for instead of a rusty pretty looking car but you can not truely tell what condition an assembled car is if you are trying to build a concourse car this will also stop a lot of tyre kickers.those interested will obviously know what they are looking for and probably have already looked at a lot of rusty examples or ones they were not sure of. My car is very honest in the flesh everything exposed to scrutiny. And I m prepared to spend time with you in checking. Price is not negotiable but parts are. As I am getting out of morries I am open to being generous in what I include in this deal that will suit this car.there will many other things I have that I haven t mentioned I can negotiate with. I am also selling off my only other morry my series 2 sedan.a 4 door i used to drive in 1990.good floor and a worthy project car. 1285 same model as convertible. also available are ute and van parts and sidevalve parts.if you want to become a crazy morry collector like I was.then I would love to talk to you about a huge bulk deal. And you can ruin your life like I did mine. 02 9628 6874
